  • This monk is telling, that Depression is feeling some pain and discomfort. He is wrong here. I've had Depression for about 20 years, very strong and severe heaviness in place of my chest, so I had to lie down in bed to battle it, for two hours, everyday. I've been taking strong meds for this condition and owing to them I'm still alive. I studied and practised ZEN and Taoism, specially CHI GONG Breathing Exercises, for almost 20 years and these practices helped me to recover, plus shrink's meds.

  • @dtseringdorje - Have you tried using this monks method of using the 6rs to Recognize, Release and RELAX into this painful physical feeling. Using breathing techniques and meds is really trying to MAKE it go away and will just mask it. You must use right effort which means bringing up a Wholesome state and then using the 6rs to release and relax into any distraction which arises. You must sit and do the meditation-Each day. With the 6rs. After using the 6rs you return to your home object.

  • @begintosee When I had depression I didn't feel any pain you talking about. I felt longing-nostomania and heaviness in chest. No pain. The meditation you talk I practiced for 25 years until my knees broke and I have not sit for 7 years. I was doing mahamudra Mind Nature meditation and shikantaza Zen meditation. I have been in state of samadhi 24/7 for about 15 years, at peace with my true Self and God Krsna/Ganesh/Siva/Christ/Avalokitesvara/Padmasambhava/Amitabha. I am at peace, now.

  • @dtseringdorje : It sounds like you are doing Absorption Meditation. While it eliminates suffering for the time you are in the absorption - it merely suppresses the hindrances and does not permanently eliminate craving. I understand you feel better now but the practices you are doing are not what Bhante teaches. He did his Samadhi time in Burma with many Sayadaws there and rejected the practice as not going to the cause of suffering. Have you listened to HOW he teaches. Please try that.

  • you cannot think away painful feelings by saying to yourself i will not think painful thoughts.. that is where the monk is not telling the whole story.. depression is survival through a metamorphosis.. it is something you go through.. not around

  • @GoddessProjectVid -Bhante is certainly not telling you to "think" away your thoughts but rather to observe them and accept and then....this is important...relax any tension and tightness in your head associated with that thought. This is the key. Every thought carries tension (craving) with it. This craving keeps the thought going -you keep indulging the depression- You must let it go, accept it and relax the tightness. Just notice the feeling that comes, then thoughts and relax into it.

  • dtseringdorje appears to misunderstand Bhante Vimalaramsi and doesn't even associate the strong and heaviness in his chest as discomfort. and the goddessprojectvid comment hasn't a proper understanding of what Bhante teaches. can't pour anything in to cups that are full.

you can't give people a gift if they refuse it.

  • @begintosee The practices of monk you try to promote here are useless to me. My teacher told me: " Put it all down. Don't make anything. Moment to moment just do it! When hungry, eat. When tired, sleep. That's all." I can see clearly you yourself are confused. Absorbtion Meditation? I have eating a tangerine meditation. Drinking a banana milkshake meditation. Watching this blue sky and stars at night meditation. I feel well. Have nice staying place. I'm lying on a sofa, now, smilling.

  • @lizoski actually chemical imbalance is called psychiatry propoganda to sell drugs...but stress can cause imblance but the root is worry stress..some durgs are theraupetic only under a good doctor in moderation but even then there are alternatives herbs hoemopathy good sleep
