TO MARS IN MINIATURE...

2055: Voyage to Mars" takes us on a journey of discovery, as Nasa launch their first manned mission to Mars.
Inspired by the late master of model special effects, Derek Meddings, David Ross brings the special effects principles which saw their hey-day in the sixties and seventies back to life with everyday household objects.

No CGI was used to create these special effects. The film was made in my garage and garden for a college project.

Thanks for watching!

  • @TheFluffyDuck Not to step to either side of the debate you bring up, but I don't think your argument is relative. In fact, I know of no public school that teaches creationism. And even schools/teachers that do still teach the same physics and same basic science as any other well grounded school/teacher. Weather you believe the earth is an accident or created has little baring on your knowledge of physical sciences, and ability to work in or with programs pertaining to space travel.

  • @TheFluffyDuck

Americans schools have zero creationism in them... nothing to ditch (except for some private schools).

Science has been co-opted by environmentalists. High schools focus almost entirely on ecology and environmental studies these days. That reason, more than any thing else, is responsible for our decline in the necessary scientific fields of physics, astronomy, chemistry...

It's a shame more people don't know this.

  • IM QUITE CURE THAT THE SHIP WILL ROTATE TO GET AN ARTIFICIAL GRAVITY AS WELL

  • u good film makers get too clever thinking u have to format the movies' aspect ratio too when youtube clearly states not to, and that they'll do it otherwise uploads end up in a black box.,just like this one, completely hampering the enjoyment of the intended-us-u're viewers....plantpot!

  • This was so well done, I was waiting for the "ITC Entertainment" end cap!

  • This is like an old sci-fi show. No cgi, just models.

  • I want bob marley

  • Epic sounds!

  • This was a neat video! I also enjoy "Blue Danube Waltz" in the soundtrack. I sometimes have a fascination with space travel, especially with the idea of going to Mars. This video is certainly much more exciting than watching Jeopardy, or your "money" back!

  • @TheClassicalSymphony I wouldn't dream of 'taking you on' as you so quaintly put it as I have far more important things to do with my time - there's a patch of damp paint the drying of which is utterly fascinating, I must rush. Don't bother replying as I shan't be posting about you again given my urgent paint-watching schedule.

  • @McToddRidesAgain u come across as a little shit, mate....fuck off trying to take me on , u very small, tiny little poo. Stop sending me puny quasi-tough messages...yer just a big girl's blouse.....go on, shove off, stop wasting my time.
