@BoSoxnation1972 Yeah, Crowder was all heart. But as I recall he did seem to lose more fights than he won. His brother Bruce was a willing fighter too, but he sucked at it as well.

@PurpleShamrock I liked McPhee because he was tough but played clean. He wasn't really a good fighter though. He was basically Montreal's Keith Crowder. He was tough, played clean, but usually lost when he took on the tough guys. I liked Lyle Odelein as well because he played tough, but clean. He was a solid fighter and a solid defenceman.

@BoSoxnation1972 I would say that this game said about all you need to know about the valor of BOTH players, wouldn't you? If it had been Corson who got hit with the slapshot, I'm not sure he would have even returned to the ice that night, let alone fought anyone. As a Bruins fan I had much more respect for a player like Mike McPhee, who was tough but seemingly a lot more honorable, at least to my recollection.

@PurpleShamrock Corson proved to be a spot picking coward, and this was Corsons first spot he picked! Attack someone that took a 90 MPH puck to the face, and try and get him to go. This game defined Shane Corsons reputation as a spot picker!

Incredibly, Neely not only returned to action after heading to the dressing room for some stiches, but he also dropped the gloves with Shayne Corson later in the same game and more than held his own.
