So....this is the controversial video? There's nothing gay here! And even if there was, so what?? Kids should learn to respect EVERYONE no matter race, religion, sexual orientation, gender or age.

lol seeing bear, tutter, treelo and the other Bear In The Big Blue House muppets on sesame street was cool....I just wish Barney wasn't here :/ he's just wasting space it would be cool to see kermit, piggy, Floyd, Dr.Teeth and the penguins on sesame street instead of Barney.

@nhunt1778 Ok, I just hope the diversity curriculum package offers some real-life examples. I don't think seeing Barney with Big Bird will necessarily translate in children's minds to accepting people who are culturally different from them.

@jro418 There are more than 100 characters from many shows on Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and PBS together in one effort to promote a unique message of unity. The educational DVD package that is offered for free to educational institutions includes a diversity curriculum that has been used nationwide - and in fact internationally.

I am so disappointed in this. This is an educational resource? All it seems to be accomplishing is promoting children to watch a greater variety of PBS shows. How can children connect this to real-life tolerance and respect of family diversity?

The Teacher's Guide aims to foster discussion about the diversity on this planet and how we are all family... Biological family, classroom family or your global family!
