  • My community college is performing The Laramie Project and this song describes it perfectly

  • This and 'Tuesday Morning' are both so powerful tunes she wrote about Gay men that are gone.

I don't get the peep that make comments about being LGBT being a 'choice'! No one would choose to be hated, ridiculed, bullied, beaten, discriminated against by their own government that says 'all are created equal' (unless your gay) and some GLBT's are even killed for the way they are born. Shame on you... shame on all Americans filled with this bigotry & hate!!

  • I didn't choose to be gay straight no more than I could choose blue eyes. Its I straight people that keep making gay pride PROUD! My son's very straight yet proud to boast my Mom's gay & she taught me respect, love & integrity. Just for Active Duty USCG @ 18..

  • This is such a strong song that tells a truly horrendous story. We must remember to rise up in love.

  • Did you choose to be straight?

  • what a story...full of symbols and of great significance... i hope we can all change for the better - evil is there in all of us - don't let it get to you

  • @1caninelover my twin is straight too..im the who is gay..i knew from my grade school years i love same sex and attracted sexually..but im just not brave enough till now to COME OUT..im scared of being rejected and turned down by close friends :(

  • @1caninelover :( yeah How we can convince straight people that being gay is not a choice? its so unfair.. i dont understand either..its been years already now we are in 2011 considering its been accepted all over..but still there are few people who are sooo mean.. i had great time talking with you here..thanks a lot for the time..im checking from time to time my inbox here you can send me private message if you want-thanks

  • @prettykiray and caninelover,i tell you being gay is not a choice .we are born like this..I realized i was gay and not a straight one when i was in grade school,i had huge crush in my science teacher--so gorgeous and strated realizing im attracted to same sex-till now im not out..still receiving questions why im not married yet-because im attracted to women-lovely women-but why such judgemental people are existing.few of my friends knew already but really my dream is to show WHO I REALLY AM..

  • @1caninelover hehe thanks for replying Im not young now im now 36 years of age and a gay woman ( who is still in the closet) but i hate homophobic people and judgemental people..there are so many things to hate in this world..like corruption from polititian, and some people who work in government who took advantage of people's money..-like these..but i dont think gay people should receive such hate because we do not harm people in their hearts..we dont hurt them at all..instead they hurt us
