UnRealty Tour: The Sonia Sotomayor Song

While Public Advocate was hitting the streets of DC conducting the Sonia Sotomayor UnReality Tour, showing what America would be like if we lived in Sonias topsy-turvy world of identity politics, we kept hearing this song sung.

These were the lyrics

Late last night when we were all in bed
Sonya wearily took her lantern to the shed
and when the cow kicked it over
she shook her head and said
"It'll be a hot time in the old town tonight"

She fired firefighters and
a slew of ex-marines
and replaced them with
some sissys and real proficient fiends
and when the town caught fire
there was no in between
It was a hot time in the old town that night.

And when the time comes for Sonya
and equal protection of our rights
we can all sit and wonder or
start running for our lives
and when she starts to burn
the Constitution to the ground
"It'll be a hot time in the old town tonight"
