What he did in Torino? You mean not winning? He didn't even want to go, as he says in this video. He doesn't owe you or America any medals. He only has to do what makes him happy, and everyone else can find a new "hero" if they don't like it. It's just sports. The fact that anyone cares MORE then Bode is the upsetting thing. Other athletes do it to meet other peoples expectations, and Bode does it for himself, that's why he will always be the best.

I wouldn't say he is a mental midget, just not thoroughly committed to certain causes that come along with his profession. In fact, he is very mentally tough under pressure. Life just isn't always black and white. Many people don't truly admit how unhappy they are, or how uncertain. Most intelligent people don't really know what they want to do, they just know what they don't want to do.

best us speed skier to walk this earth. the news hates him and makes him out to be a "badass" just because he is impartial to winning and thats bad publicity. hes an undisputed genius of the sport
he deserved the gold medal in vancouver, that was the most inspired slalom run i have ever seen in my entire life

No, skiing drunk and acting like he didn't care. If that was the case and he actually didn't care, he should have told the American Olympic team so that they could have given someone with perhaps less skill, but more heart than Mr. Miller. But that was four years ago and we all must move on.
