I was a pre-teen at the time, but I remember this is a time when people didn't worry about having better cars or houses than their neighbours. Young folk wanted to change the world, but not for financial gain. It was a time when socialism (NOT communism, which is a different doctrine) changed Britain for the better, and bankers were respectable men in bowler hats, not crooks. Happy, hippy days!

Music is truly a snap shot of our lives. Great memories of a time gone by.

I made an earlier comment about about this great song being written by Joni Mitchell .However M.S.C. really did it full justice with this great and definitive version .A theme song for a brief period of optimism in the world which ended much too quickly.

Can't help wondering where those people are now, especially those who were born during the festival.

Women do not write as many songs as men but when they do as with this one by Joni Mitchell
they certainly shine . Female genius !

This version tramples the CSN version. One of the most enduring songs from the 70's.

My Dad died on November 10th, 1970. He loved this song and so my mother bought the disc for him. Whatever beautiful place he is at, this beautiful song takes me to him for a few precious minutes.
