Actually it is correct to state that Italy was kept divided purposely. One of the primary reasons in which France refused to withdraw from Rome until 1870 was because Napoleon III feared the rise of a strong Italian state with nationalist ambitions on its southern border. The UK also was responsible for fermenting rebellions across Italy, playing off city-states against the French. It's not a coincidence that Italy was disunited for so long. Foreign powers made sure of that.

Caro connazionale, bel video! Sulle armi militari ricordiamoci anche dell'Oto Melara, utilizzata persino dalla marina militare statunitense ;).
Se riuscissimo ad eleggere dei politici responsabili e nazionalisti, superemmo sia la Francia che la Gran Bretagna.
