Clever concept! The burton/expressionism influence is there, but doesn't seem overdone, IE, your designs seem original. I liked the use of 2d cut outs and 3d models. One suggestion though for the next animation would be to move the puppets less between each frame to make it less jerky. Still, I dug it!
