its such a strange kata for me being in shotokan, your version just looks well not weaker but it just looks less appliable in the bunkai

Always good to see other Wado Ryu clubs. Very nicely performed Kata!

Mr Gary there sure are alot of experts on here that have taken Wado Ryu for less than 1 yr that want to critisize your style and form. I took Wado Ryu for i think almost three yrs and was a third degree brown before I quit. The dojo I attended meet twice a week for two hrs each time for a total of 4 hrs a week. This is to give you some idea at how fast or slow you progressed through the belts and how much time you had to put in for the black belt. I wish you would post more katas there great

Nice video. I'm an orange belt now and I could use this demo for future use. Luckily my back garden at home is big enough to practice my Kata.

Wow
Don't listen to them Gary! Every move I saw there, was excactly what I learned last year. Could you perhaps video Rohai for me, so I can perfect it for my 1st Dan at Xmas?

To be clear, this is not me (GaryWado) performing these kata.
It is Neill Hudson (my instructor) and Michelle Tough.

i must say that i learn the kata diffentily. i live in holland and about 5 years ago alot in the kata's has chanced. the found out there where alot of mistakes made in translating the kata's a couple of 100 years ago (i geuss it whas that long). so for the ppl who say i have learned it like this 15 to 20 years ago. i agree. but to day its done diffrentily. for instance the cross arms afther the jump is not made forward but down worths as if you where blocking a kick when you are landing.

Wado ryu Kata was not around a couple of hundred years ago. The block in question is a gedan morote uke -The fists travel in a downward direction however they finish in front of the body and remain above belt height.
Thank you for you comment.
