Protecting Your Roof From Hail

Hail is the source of millions of dollars in losses for homeowners and their insurance companies. Engineer Scott Morrison of HAAG Engineering says his company tests building materials to see which ones can stand up to hail. Experts say check your roof regularly and replace broken or loose shingles with new ones with an Underwriters Laboratories 2218 class 3 or 4 rating. Harvey Ryland, President and CEO of the Institute for Business and Home Safety says hail can damage your roof, ceiling, walls and even carpets. He urges homeowners to protect their investment in their home.
