1996 Dyson DC01 De Stijl

In 1996, Dyson manufactured a total of 20,000 limited edition 'De Stijl' DC01s and DC02s. They were equipped with a HEPA + Bactiguard post motor filter, and the DC01 came with a low-reach floortool.

The bright colours were inspired by the Dutch 'De Stijl' art movement, and were used to draw attention to the form and structure of the cleaners.

Dyson also made a De Stijl version of DC04.

Thanx for posting this mate, it's brought back a lot of memories as do all DC01s. I always remember them making a purple and green DC01 but as years have past, I haven't been able to find one nor any information prior to them. The De Stijl DC04 is getting rare at the moment, put that one on your wish list if you don't already own one! lol :)

@videovac Hi there - there was no purple/lime DC01... that colour-scheme was introduced on the DC04.

The exhaust Hepa filter on these was the same as fitted to the DC01 Absolute. IIRC, the original intake filters had a bacti-guard screen applied..but it's possible to fit a disposable or washable filter instead. I might still have a new red bottom plate for one of these machines.

BTW, yours looks like new. Are you sure there's any dirt left to pick up on your carpet?..and is your dog allowed in this room?
