Really, it all comes down to the breeders. Sometimes what matters more to breeders is appearance, and honestly, it's pretty stupid. The whole point of dog breeding is to improve upon the health and structure of the future generation, and to increase awareness for the breed. I'm afraid we're slipping into that whole, "it's what's on the outside that counts" diddy. :c And yes, while appearance is all nice and fine and everything, in the end, is that really what matters?

@EcoFreauty OK, cheers.

definitely Kennel Club will defend themselves but i dont see any proof from them on what they said.... pedigree dogs exposed gave some very good proofs and arguments.

because humans are not animals (at least that's what THEY believe...)

only breed from healthy dogs and most the problems will be solved, cross certain breeds for health reasons if need be, what's more important healthy dogs or a bit of bloody ribbon and some paper saying 1 dogs better than the next

yeah right, the kennel clubs really helping bulldogs be born without the need for c sections, and all the healthy ridgebacks without a ridge, which is actually a defect are really in the show standard arent they. Dont get me wrong, i love ridgebacks, bulldogs, in fact all breeds, but the kennel club helping the breeds get healthier, HOW? by killing healthy pups, and showing & breeding the ones with defects, thats how its all sick and twisted bollocks no matter what any1 says.

...and the Kennel Club won't tell us what they're doing to improve things, either? It's such BS that they won't pass rules on mandatory health checks. It would solve the problem very quickly. If they're not registered as purebred, people won't buy them.

Simple fact: the clubs do not make it a rule not to breed from 1st and 2nd dgegree relatives.
second fact: how many dogs they breed that are not "perfect" get put down as soon as possible. If they were truly concerned for their dogs well being thye would collected information on the health of the dogs they breed and sell after 5 and 10 years?
Is there more to this
