Check out my blog that goes into more detail on why I like Mossbergs vs Remingtons for home defense.

  • @1john1992 Shotguns have their strengths & weakness's just like handguns and rifles have strengths & weakness's. No gun is perfect for every scenario and every shooter. AS for shotguns being overkill? Maybe? Maybe not?I guess if the bad guy is a tiny 98lb crack head wearing a T-shirt & shorts and a Swiss army knife it could be overkill? But if he is a 250lb gang member wearing a leather jacket and high on meth looking for money for his drug habit then maybe its not overkill?

  • @BFCSUPERMAN Come on over. There is always more room for one more good American (or American at heart lol). We have lots of space. Just ignore the politics.

  • @FullmetaljacketJ Unless your house has no windows and you live in a desert I wouldnt worry too much about dust jamming your gun? Keep it clean and oiled and it should serve you well for home defense. More importantly you need to practice shooting it. Time yourself. Practice getting up, pulling it from the safe or secure location, and getting on target. Get a feel for how long it really takes to do what you need to do.

  • @mixflip Should i worry about dust or anything damaging my weapon ? this is my first gun and i dont want anything bad to happen to it but i need it ready for home defence quickly

  • @FullmetaljacketJ Right now I am using my handgun as my primary HD weapon. When I do use my shotgun I set it up cruiser ready.

  • @mixflip how do you store your 12 gauge ready for home defence ? i have mine leaning against the wall by my door in the police cruiser setting

( Slide unlocked nothing in chamber 9 in the tube) Grab rack shoot

  • 00 buck will penetrate several walls and still be lethal. Not QUITE as bad as most handguns. I prefer #4 buck for that reason--it will also, but fewer than 00. Also, more pellets mean more chances of something vital being hit (provided the pellets are big enough to penetrate sufficiently). Layout of the house and location of neighbors might mean some other choice is a better one for someone else, of course.

  • Oh and as for mossberg vs remington, I prefer mossy shotguns and Remington rifles, but I'm open to all haha. I like how mossy shotguns are easier to load, and I grew up on Remington rifles. Love em all

  • I made the mistake of not researching enough when I got my mossbergs. I have 3 500's, ones a field model that was a gift, the other two are a persuader and a mariner. I paid about 350 for each and they are both amazing shotguns. I shot my buddy's maverick, same performance. I got one not to long ago to throw in one of my trucks kind of for shits and giggles, just extra. It's awesome, simple, Im just used to the tang I stead of crossbar safety.

  • @metzgermeisterfuchs can't argue with "stupid" (wink)
