Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine that shouldn't be there. The best defense is early detection. Scoliosis has no cure, and while overloaded backpacks may injury muscles and joints, they do not cause scoliosis. In many cases, the cause of scoliosis in not known. The condition impacts both genders. It can affect infants and adults, but its general onset is ages 10 to 15. A scoliosis screening takes less than a minute and requires no needles.
