The M31 Triton uses the same reflector and LED as the SR50, but comes in a longer, slimmer form. It uses 3 or 4 CR123 batteries or 2 18650 with the included extender piece. On high, the output is 800 lumens out of the front of the light. There are four output modes total: three brightnesses and strobe.

  • I noticed that when you turned on this light, the first time in this video, there is a donut hole. Do I see this right, or not?

  • @kjongeling Most lights will do that when you have them up close. The donut goes away after a meter or so.

  • Just looked at your video again and now am wondering about adjusting output levels and functions by twisting the head instead of cycling the switch as most flashlights of this type do.... Any thoughts on durability ? How is the PWM on low setting ?

The flickering or PWM on other high quality lights I've used in the past can really be trying at times especially on close up work around 1 to 3 feet away.

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks again.

  • @kahvac Lots of flashlights use the head to switch modes and I haven't ever heard of any durability issues as long as you clean the contacts every now and then. I am not particularly sensitive to PWM, so I don't notice it.

  • Nice flashlight, I'm still not sure which flashlight to get. I've been leaning towards the M31 or the SureFire M3lt. I would like to know which one is brighter, and is it worth going for the more expensive SureFire? What is the major difference in these two flashlights? Thanks for all the reviews......

  • @BERTO929 The M31 is brighter, but the M3LT has a really nice beam that has surprisingly good throw. It's up to you if the higher cost is worth it, but the M3LT is a really nice light and not a bad choice.
