On extended reading on the habitat of the King Cobra,I am amending my earlier view that expressed scepticism of the finality of your conclusions.I've been able to sense a strong counterview to my assumptions on this subject conferred through an enlightening article on Romulus Whittaker, founder of Snake Park at Chennai, wherein the sightings of the King are expressed with so much awe that a reasonable mind can't overlook the extreme rarity of seeing it in a thin jungle much less a Office campus!
You are probably right-It could be just a Cobra and not a King Cobra.Although it is true that King Cobras live in dense forests, it can survive as long as there are streams and other water bodies-because of which i award you the benefit of doubt- However, apart from the fact it is ophiophagous, which cobras are not, i think, the species as such has got highly venomous neurtoxin. So, my reply is, probably you are right, however your conclusion is far from being definitive.
This reptilian visitor was a baby King Cobra -strayed into our beautiful campus on a sunny morning. It was later caught by a professional snake catcher and carefully taken to a snake park. It was a great experience for some lucky people like me who happened to watch this..
