Who hasn't wondered what The Shining would have been like if it had been a romantic comedy? Honestly, who has? Appearently one person because someone took the time and made a trailer depicting just that.

I've never read the book, so I wouldn't know, but I *HAVE* seen the film several times, and if you honestly feel there is no explanation given for WHY Jack goes nuts, then - you obviously are someone that needs to be held by the hand and have things explained to you in minute detail by filmmakers. Kubrick is way above your pay grade. Maybe try Transformers, or the next Dora the Explorer feature? Something where you don't have to analyze images to come up with answers, so you can follow along.
