BSA 500 cc B33 engine with high compression piston, 30mm inlet, goldstar cams, inlet valve, rockers, lighten'd flywheel and polished con rod.
it runs. Still have to sort out the carburation and set it up better.

  • Been there done that, decompressor?

  • @441rider I suspected the decompressor. I think it was a combination of decompressor interfearance and carb not set up (held accelerator open a bit to get startup)

  • @bengeezy727 - You need to get hold of a valve-spring compressor, and take out the two halves of the retaining bush from the top of the valve stem.

  • how do you pull the valve assembly from the cylinder head? do the valves have to be pulled or will the valve assembly come free from the cylinder head?
