More than 50-thousand people gathered in the desert in northern Nevada for the climax of the annual "Burning Man." The week-long art, music and performance festival in the Black Rock Desert ended with the burning of a 40-foot structure of a man. (Sept. 6)
@MisterKalas yeah but without that section of the Nevada desert surely it wouldnt feel the same? if you ask them nicely i'm sure they could bring it over just for you :)

@KaiLuck my friend went this year, and I saw the videos from it. I definitely wouldn't call it mainstream.

Wacky and normal are matters of opinion and not really relevant. It's more about being yourself, respecting others, participating, putting in more than you take, and not being an asshole (which is also a matter of opinion).

Is Burning Man mainstream now? I mean, do people still do whacky things like the used to, or are there too many "normal" people there nowadays?

They def did that wrong! Last I checked there is supposed to be livestock and people in the burning man...that's how we did it in the old days...
