Omg... U are just a really sucky noob if u use this tactic...
When i play i like to attack head on becouse many people think that when u have the spartans, u have to form a square and camp
When i use the spartans i just attack them at once. becouse people would think that i am going to form a square,and then would they bring a lot of archers. so i can easily take them out. Btw i almost never use greeks.. I am more of an Roman/Barbarian guy. i dont really like phalanx men.

Its good against A.I but to a human player? I don't think so...

Hehe you are really a noob.
Spartan isn't the best, they are very weak beceause they cost too much and you can replenish them only in Sparta and Syracuse.
Heavy hoplite is better, when I play Greece I always conquer Rome using heavy hoplite, they have the same stats as best roman infantry before the reform.
BTW when it comes to play Greece against Scytia...is god damn fail Greek has no cavarly at all.

@omega14j1 sorry but this is lame tactics.
You should fight on the middle of the battle field not make use of weak points of game such as this when you gather your army in the corner.
This is lame as hell.
BTW heavy hoplites are better than spartan beceause you can't replenish spartans in othe rcities.
Outcome is after few battles you have no army and you lose.
But Heave hoplites need 3 tier of infantry building so when you capture 3 level or bigger city it is there usually.
