Irish TV station, TG4, features Avego's pilot program at University College Cork (UCC) on its evening news program.
This Shared Transport pilot aims to expand affordable commuting options at UCC by providing a marketplace for drivers to offer their unused seats to other people in real time.
Enabled using Avego's free iPhone application, staff and students participating in the pilot can save money on their commute by sharing the seats in their cars with other staff and students on their commute to and from the UCC campus.
Avego provides automated dynamic ride-matching, real-time passenger information, audio prompts for drivers, and management of the financial transaction from the passenger to the driver at the end of the journey.
