  • mY FAVORITE guitar player, bar none

  • Love this song!!!

  • the bass player is a monster....

  • hey,, how many of us guitbox players have fought the impulse to throw our guiutars right into the fireplace after hearing Larry do his magic? And I DO MEAN MAGIC! LOL!!

  • @hold1119

Most would say it depends on what music you play.

Some would say a Gibson is better for Jazz but quite a few jazz players have used Fender Teles, including Ed Bickert,Ted Green, Joe Pass, Danny Gatton could get ANY tone on his Telecaster.. Gibsons can be abit predictable.

If you get the right Tele it can't be beat. That hollow, nasal sound goes great with Jazz...gives it a Blues/Country feel.

  • Larry just sounds good on any guitar, he'd even sound like Larry Carlton if he were playing a ukulele ;-)

  • @hold1119 Late to this but... Interesting question: they're both classic instruments. You wanna sound like Steve Cropper, go for the telecaster, and that's very cool, but the Gibson's better for blues. I've a 335 and Iuuurve it..

& then there's the strat, and Jimi Hendrix, but that's another story..

  • HEY, I got a Q?, which tone you guys like between es335 and tele?

  • Larry Carlton just has such an amazing tone. I also love a virtuoso who doesn't feel the need to play fast all the time to prove their skill! Restraint is a powerful tool.

  • I love how, after the intro when Larry plays the first couple notes of the tune, Wilton's just smiling and saying Dang! That's IT!! So cool to see these guys on stage together again!
