Christmas Fairy Tale ... Laura reads her book and it is apparently told in the holiday shopping windows with scary moving dolls all of which have nothing to do with Christmas, however, we meet Wee Willie Winkie (Who?!), The Pie Man, Simple Simon, Mother Goose and her candy store?, Hansel and Gretel, Robin Hood, Rip Van Winkle, Goldilocks and the Bears playing London Bridge, Rapunzel, The Three Blind Mice, Little Red Riding Hood dancing with The Wolf to a gay tune played by Puss In Boots, Little Boy Blue, Little Bo Peep switch to next set of stock footage, a rotating presentation of Christmas cheese . The Littlest Snowman, the only snowman with a candy heart. It appears that when the thermometer reaches 12 degrees, all the snowmen meet up to party in the streets. When the sun rises, they have to rush home to their maker so they don't melt. I guess they can't melt if they go home? But it was not the sun they saw, it was fire. The Littlest Snowman saves the kid from the fire, and of course it's the kid who made him. The snowman tries to get help by throwing snowballs through the open windows of people in the town. in the middle of winter, in 12 degree weather and he woke a lot of people, which I guess means everyone sleeps with their windows wide open in the winter. oh wait somehow the story is over and there is a statue of the snowman made for saving the brat's life or something. The end.

Animatronics are mainly used in moviemaking, but also in theme parks and other forms of entertainment. Its main advantages to CGI and stop motion is that it is not a simulation of reality, but are physical objects moving in real time in front of the camera. The technology behind animatronics has become more advanced and sophisticated over the years, making the puppets even more realistic and lifelike.

Garner Holt Productions, Inc. of San Bernardino, California; UCFab International, LLC of Apopka, Florida; Sally Corporation in Jacksonville, Florida; and Lifeformations of Bowling Green, Ohio are among the leaders in manufacturing animatronics for the theme park industry as well as for museums, restaurants, retail establishments and many other themed environments.

Animatronics for film and television productions are used to perform action on camera in situations where the action involves creatures that do not exist, the action is too risky or costly to use real actors or animals, or the action could never be obtained with a living person or animal. The application of animatronics today includes computer controlled as well as radio and manually controlled devices. The actuation of specific movements can be obtained with electric motors, pneumatic cylinders, hydraulic cylinders and cable driven mechanisms. The type of mechanism employed is dictated by the character parameters, specific movement requirements and the project constraints. The technology has advanced to the point that animatronic puppets can be made indiscernible from their living counterparts.

  • lol man this is so late 50's early 60's thats when the audio animatronic craze was full tilt thanks to old Walt Disney lol many of the major department stores had them in small numbers during the holidays Macy's was the best cause they had the bank to buy the best.

  • thats sooo creeepppyyy

  • Feliz cumpleaños Mr Iwerks

  • What were these films used for?--Television? Matinees?. I do know that Macy's in Manhattan had the "Littlest Snowman" on a type of "train" in their windows during the 1955 Xmas season.

  • just beautiful and charming, no scarey faces of these adorable figures

  • people certainly were fucked up in the 50s.

  • Little Red Riding Hood dancing with the wolf??? He was more like trying to eat her! geeeezzzz

  • Hard to determine what the exact date of this film is. There was a Jean Downing & Bob Leonard mentioned on the internet active around 1962-1965. The Littlest Snowman(book) was published in 1956. The film has a late 1950's look to it. Would it be safe to say, circa 1960?

  • GREAT CLIP....THANKS.......
