I read that somewhere too. It was quite a while ago though. That's quite amazing considering your video.
I really miss Carl. He was so interesting and engrossing to listen to. Anyone could follow his speaking and enjoy it.
Thanks again for this video.

I was there Monday night and there were 3 deer there, just like in this video. They were above Carl's grave, whereas i this video, they were below.
N 42° 27.384'
W 076° 29.583'
Elevation 547 ft. above sea level.

I met in Ithaca last Sat. with a new Saganista friend (Steph) and after showing her the hidden deer in one Pat Linse version of the concept Sagan stamp, we paid our respects at the cemetery. And she spotted a deer watching us. The deer quickly hid out of sight, and we couldn't figure out where he or she went.
Not to worry about the quality. It was a great thought regardless and I got the point you were getting across.
Thanks,
Tim

About a week after taking this, i read a wonderful article by Ann Druyan where she described looking up from her computer to see Carl sitting out near the gorge, focused on what he was writing -- when a sizable deer came up and looked over Carl's shoulder to see what he was doing. Carl was so engrossed that he didn't know the deer was there.

I better leave a comment before it disappears and I'll give you a rating, too. There's a lot of snow! Now you know my problem with converting my vids on You Tube. You Tube is free, so what can you expect? It cracks me up when you're walking and the video is bouncing. It's hard, isn't it?

I was running actually. My camera was literally out of RAM when I came back to Carl's grave. That was it.
In the hills and in the valleys
so much beauty it's a crime
..
In the graveyards lay the legends
who were cut down in their primes
