This is an extensive tour of one of the Pods at the Kay County Dentention Facility in Newkirk, Oklahoma following the riot on 8-4-2007, Saturday night. The tactical unit from Ponca PD responded with officers as did Newkirk officers. Osage County responded with a van and a deputy and returned back to their center with 15 of the inmates. Grant County took in 4 of the inmates and Ponca City took in 5 inmates. This left just under 130 inmates still at the facility I perosnally saw 4 OHP troopers and they ranged from rookies fresh out of the latest academy up to and including a lieutenant. Also, a special thanks to Sheriff Everette VanHoesen for allowing the tour and to Detention Officer Gregg Evans for taking me on the tour.

  • Where the hell do you get a brink from inside the COUNTY JAIL?

  • It was a concrete block. One like is used to construct walls. I think they remove the mortar and then take the concrete block out and used that. Also heard it was removed from the area the stair case was located.

  • we did not get busted

  • i have also been in this fine facility several times and those locks on the doors have been broken for years they were not recently dismantled and austin we didnt get busted did anyone go to jail i dont think so im to smart for that lol

  • tru very tru

  • Almost every facility puts inmates "wherever". You can't separate everyone just because of their charges. Inmates only get separated if their charge will cause them harm or if they are a disciplinary problem. If you separated everyone by charge that would be even more of a problem. Imagine having all violent crime ppl housed together ex. Rape and willfury injury types. That would be more of a problem.
