@gotokill2 I see your comment is 6 months old, but I'll answer your question anyway! Cloud gives Sephiroth the black materia because Cloud has been injected with Jenova's cells. Sephiroth can somehow control people who have been injected with Jenova's cells (like those people in the black hoods that have numbers) and when Cloud gets his memory back (I guess?) he gains his free will.

and also sephiroth turned the tables and took controll of jenova and used the plan it had set up to instead be at the centre of the planet and absorb the energy to become a god like no other not because of jenova

yeah vincent and nanaki had jenova cells although vincent also did not have a number tattoe because he was shot in the head and was expected to die... nanaki was like number 13 and he also did take part in the jenova renunion lol and he didn't even know it

Ok, other than Cloud, did anyone in Cloud's Party have Jenova Cells? I'm asking because Sephiroth apparently had taken control of the character with the Black Materia tricking him/her with delivering it to Cloud by posing as Tifa in his/her mind, and I don't recall them ever having Jenova's Cells.
