The Tower of Hope, Mellissa Stockwell and Service Dog Jake

Melissa became the first woman in combat in the current wars to lose a limb. As an above-the-knee amputee, a service dog like Jake makes daily tasks, previously difficult to perfom, possible again. Service dogs sponsored by the Tower of Hope restore independence, self-confidence and provide a sense of companionship to those veterans who have sacrificed so much in defense of our nation.
