  • My generation followed yours and we enjoy the freedom you fought for.

    Thank you.

  • God Bless you Johnnie and all of your 617 Sqdn comrades from a grateful American who has idolized your feat (and of course the Lanc) since I was a boy and first saw the movie in the 50's.

  • @CreoleCommando Yeah, Ploiești and daylight bombing worked out for you guys. 1 raid on 1 night does not sum up the approach of Bomber Command.

  • My great great grandfather, Horace Badge, was the pilot in a Lancaster which got shot down over Swiss territory. We will never forget you, the men and women, both sides, who gave their lives for their country!

  • I think it was a very good "propaganda" operation really made for Hollywood, the USAAF had a much better approach to stopping the NAZI war machine bomb the Oil & petro chemical plants to ruin, which where even more vulnerable to daylight & night bombing.

  • I salute you sir.

  • Wheres his home fit for a hero? EH???? :|

  • Excellent .
