  • @lehighgirl - that storm was massive - there's normally a wide beach at that location. No doubt they had lived through many storms over the years - you get cocky.

  • I was there the summer of 1998 - there was still construction trash all over the beach. Shattered 2x4s, shingles, etc. You had to be careful of nails sticking up out of wood hidden in the sand.

There were three big storms within about a year of this one.

  • I remember when that happened. this lady i worked with lived in codfish park at the time and was there. She said."it floated away just like noah's arc" wasn't too long before she had to leave her house too....that one gone now too....

  • I live near the ocean, these noreasters can be scary, how beautiful the ocean is though. Living close by is a blessing, and nothing is more exhilerating than the power of a storm!

  • Yeah you don't understand. People buy this land and build these houses on a tiny fragile island that has only been here for about 10,000 years and will probably be gone in another 10,000 years. Very young in the timeline of the universe. It is a very beautiful and DELICATE place.

  • This was the December 11-13,1992 noreaster.

  • nantucket is going to get walloped one of these days.....its lies just on the outside of the August/Sept hurricane trail

  • You can find alot of fossils, chrystals, arrowhaeds, even bones of people when this happens there.

  • I would be crying watching my house getting destroyed like that. The ocean is so powerful, we don't realize it. That was a great video, very eye opening. Thank you

  • my mom is the voice/ producer of this video!
