@WickedTornado I work for the National Weather Service and I think you have misconstrued what our tornado warnings request. The laying down part is correct if you are in your car and ultimately in the path of the tornado. If you can't escape the tornado in your car, get out of your car and lie flat in a ditch or lowest place possible. Winds near the surface of the earth are much lower than just a few ft above. Pipes don't provide support for the building it's the opposite.

@Tonyshawnw The Regina tornado of 1912 killed 28 people, and remains Canada's deadliest tornado to this day.

@WickedTornado I'm pretty sure that most of those running in the video were running to bathrooms. They were also trying to run to the lower level at baggage, since it is partially under ground. Also, there really isn't anything to get under that is sturdy enough to provide safety. Most of the furniture or desks are in the area where there are lots of windows. Lying down flat anywhere in the concourse would have subjected the person to an onslought of glass.
Anyone who says this is fake are an complete dumbass.

One thing I've noticed in vids of the St. Louis airport tornado, not one person had the smarts to LAY DOWN FLAT. My God....the national weather service info bulletins teach us to lay down flat..preferably UNDER something strong and stable..like a pool table, etc. At the airport there, folks ultimately should have huddled in the bathrooms (I know-yuccchhhh), because bathrooms are surrounded by pipes around and over you, which acts just like a race-car's roll cage, blocking flying debris.
