You do know that the c30 only puts out 8psi in first and second gear and 15psi in the higher gears? I spanked a bored and stroked 5.0. Mustang on the freeway the other day and he got the jump on me but the turbo got to whistling and bye bye 5.slow! Second time we launched at the same time and all he saw was my rear flashes from the start and I just kept pulling away til 130mph.

@MidnightinSavannah Barely run the race. I'm not saying the volvo is fast. I'm saying with a chip and full 3" exhaust, there would have been a different outcome. =)

@ReticentIndignation Dude the 2nd race was from a roll so he could have had plain old radial tires and still run that race.That over priced Volvo is just a slug.

@MidnightinSavannah FYI, the Volvo's curb weight is 3200 lbs. Close but yeah it's heavier than it should be.
I didn't see the drag radials part, now I see why the firebird was so far ahead at first. The C30 is not easy to lauch well, and because it's fwd, well...not great to drag race either.

@ReticentIndignation That firebird probably weights around 4000 lbs without a driver,that Volvo is around 3000 lbs. In the 1/4 mile 100 lbs = a .10 of a sec, do the math. Nice looking '74 firebird ScrZ06.

Wow is that all the Firebird had....with all that crap listed I would've thought the race would've been more ridiculous.
The volvo wasn't beat that bad. Just get a tune and increase the boost to 15# and see what happens. A 3" exhaust and downpipe and this race would have a different ending.

the volvo is my brothers car. the firebird we found out the motor was messed up bad multi problems lol the guy who built it was terrible. it is a lot better now new heADS cam. its still a old car its prob only a 13 sec. car its a old carb car it takes a lot of money to make it as fast as you see on tv
