@MingXu1971 It's not about the pieces put together, it's about the obvious difference between real speed and engine noise. You can see all those scenes are a setup, it's not a true race, it's acted. The cars go to slow for the noise they produce. But the recordings itself, the camera positions, are just wonderful.

At 3:52 the Ferrari driver showed balls..

@PChemato Well according to Richard Attwood, who won the race in 1970, that was'nt the case. Once the car was sorted out it was a fine and well balanced race car.

people we got to hang on to this........this is the greatest racing movie ever......

As a high speed motor racing fan it's easy to see this stuff is fabricated and there are plenty of gaps you can clearly tell they are not full throttle. Nevertheless, the sound is great and the camera's are all positioned perfectly to sniff up the action. Awesome production.

the 917 the greatest racing machine ever...built in haste...damn...nothing like it
-
they have a torrent of it.. just search for it.. it's even in letterbox...
Even knowing that this never happened for real it is breathtaking to see on the sscreen these two wonders (Porsche 917 and Ferrari 512) dueling at the last laps. The cars were perfect for straights but behaved like untamable beasts at corners, understeering, oversteering... Also, those pilots were crazy for sure. In a 917 you seat over the gasoline tank.
