  • The Kalkhoff doesn't have a throttle and the unit starts to power down gradually from just under 10mph. On the flat, I'm usually doing about 14 to 16mph if there's no wind, by which time the motor is powered down, of course.

That headwind, no wonder you prefer an electric bike. It could make an un-powered bike unpleasant to ride unless you were a lot stronger cyclist than me. On the other hand it must be great when it's behind you!

  • It an olympus E-PL3 stills camera with a video facility.

  • Hi, I'm usually in top, 8th gear. Bumpy, yes, make sure you don't swallow your tooth fillings during the ride :-)

The last bit if uphill but not very steep, so I stay in 8th gear. I'm a fairly strong cyclist after years of doing it so that helps. Questions, no problems, nice to talk.

  • the suspension sounds and looks really stiff on the video at least when you were on the trail. Is is really as bumpy as the video makes it seem??

  • @spogley I wonder what speed you usual get with your ebike. The eZip supports pedal assist till 15 max 18 km/h and there is no other otion to chose except the throttle, but throttle is overkill and takes all the pedalec fun away :-)) I am happy to have that little motor supporting me (specially in the beginning cycling again after 8 years) as we have quite a strong wind in the prairies 20 to 25 km/h that makes you feel going uphill even though it is straight :-))

  • What camera are you using?

  • Nice Video and nice tour, also a great ebike the Kalkhoff Tasman ;-) What gear are you usual in on that video (okay it was bumpy but) and the last bit uphill, how fast did you go in what gear? Sorry for so many questions but I try to compare (if that would be possible) ;-) Thanks for sharing :-)
