@JustTheBlueOnes nice story, but lotto authorities won't let you buy winning tickets and "finding" a $1600 winning ticket with scratchoff is still impossible. The only way he could have done it is find somebody who had already won and pay him to somehow stage it by putting silver over it, which seems to also be a stretch

Blaine found a winning ticket, Being David Blaine, instead of cashing it in he brought it back and had the enamel put back on, then he had the shop owner adjust prices on all the other tickets so that the bum would only be able to afford the three tickets he chose with the money given. He planned it out so that the most attractive ticket would be the winner. He might have simply bought the ticket for 1600$. Bottom line is he donated the money. no luck
