Out east, Street running is pretty common. In the west however, they're very few and far between. And therefor, when I returned from Cheyenne, I insisted I go railfan Mason St. in Fort Collins, Colorado. In addition to having the best college in the state (CSU) it's also home to probably the best street running anywhere in the west.

Today's train was a coal drag lead by BNSF SD70ACe 9201. The amount of K5LLA and the length of the train through the city sure made that area stop and stare. This was the First time I've ever seen a train move down the street like this, and I'm glad I caught it, because they're renovating this area, possibly sectioning off this track by this summer.

Enjoy the street running!

Did you get any footage of the gravel train unloading downtown last week?

It'll suck to be late for work and then have to deal with this behemoth in the middle of the road!

If someone died, why would it matter if the police got there or not?

Sort of creepy at first. Jus imagine, driving like normal and then all of a sudden a huge train is visible in your rear view mirror. Lol

These things will literally shut down Fort Collins for up to 20 mins. It was a long running joke in my highschool to blame the train for being late to class ^^
