Hi, first tings first....go for it, you'll have a ball!! The train tracks are optional, it all depends what route you take ito Mali. They are on the toughest route from Kifa - Kayes - Kita - Bamako. It is MUCH easier to go south from either Ayoune or Nema. We solid mounted our camera on a piece of wood between the front seats, worked ok, but not easy to pan it around. The cars all get sold in Bamako, we went through on the way to Timbuktu and then back again to leave the car and fly home. Sam
Hi, i would value any tips on your 'free moving' camera clamp for a trip this coming year. The only idea i have is something with swivel and gravity weight like on ships? Have enjoyed the vids, im guessing the scary train track isnt negotiable. Weve picked up a 21 yr old land rover defender, a bit heavy but the right price. very few niva's around.
