  • Grew up in Oakland right down the street from the stadium went to many games. This was, is and will always be my favorite baseball player. The bad thing about it is that Mac was taking an approved steroid for his back issues and got bigger from it. He helped save baseball and then they crucify him.

  • did he use roids?

  • I was 26 while Big Mac and Sosa were chasing history and believe me that summer was awesome for baseball. Nobody was complaining!!!!! Being a competitive athlete then and experimenting with steroids myself I had no doubt that these guys were taking them. I wasn't any less impressed. In a world full of much bigger issues I have been thoroughly disgusted with how these athletes have been turned into villains as the ridiculous witch hunt still continues. It gov and media never cease to amaze.

  • I shall harken back to 1987, when Mark was a relatively thinner "baby" and he hit 49 home runs in his rookie year. That should shut up any detractors. He was my hero as a kid, and I grew up on the east coast.

  • when i was a kid big mac was my favorite player. then albert pujols. now matt holliday? weird

  • This guy is a 6'5 (six foot five inches) and 260 to 280 punds all his carrer, he doesn't need steroids for strenght. He is the only player in baseball history with less games played and more than 500 home runs. Today's date (2011) his is much bigger than Alber Pujols phisicly. So anyone cant said his has an averega power because a guy with dad kind of body height and weight in basevall is very big.

  • Thanks for the video. A fitting tribute to the greatest slugger of all time. Will always be my favorite player.

  • McGwire got me into baseball.... no matter all the bullshit, I will always love him

  • Bay area teams always have the best players lol willie mays, stretch, bonds, and mcgwire

  • Mark McGwire is always by my best player!!! Thanks for the memories
