Persecuted Christians - Sudan

After centuries of persecution, Christians in Southern Sudan are desperate for their own state. But many question if the government in Khartoum will ever let the oil rich South go.
According to the peace accord, a referendum will be held to determine the South's future in 2011. The mostly Christian locals are pushing for independence from the Muslim North so that they can practice their faith in peace. In the North, they're banned from wearing crucifixes or speaking in local dialects. But with 75% of the oilfields located in the South, few expect Khartoum to relinquish control. "The North will to everything in its power to keep us second class citizens", predicts priest John Dingi Martino.

@nubian377 The Quran it self is very poetic just like the bible and usually everybody interprets in it's own way. Therefor you see people saying ooh this what the Quran says no they manipulated it to their own benefit. Sharia on the other is a law that is based on arabic culture before islam. Sharia is not a valid law for islam. Many muslims don't agree with sharia. Usually they forced under it by predominantly arab populations. Please don't misunderstand and god/allah bless you ! :-D

The Muslims and Christians of Sudan should unite to make a peaceful country. After all islam and christianity is based on the same thing. Believing in god, NOT TO KILL! Muslims and christians who kill are sinners nor the quran or the bible justifies this. The talk of killing people of another faith is the work of the devil. I'm so sorry to all the victims of what the governments sinful devious people have done. But please do not mistaken they are not representatives of islam. God/Allah bless you
