Speed Drawing: Sabertooth Tiger

I have drawn this sabertoothed tiger in about an hour outside with a mechanical pencil and sped it up.

The music is Adiemus by the group with the same name, Adiemus.

Inspired after viewing a picture by Lauren Makena.

how did you draw the eyes i never get the eyes of an animal right

@jawn1234561 Well, make sure you draw from photo references or from life when you first start working with eyes. Every animal has a different kind of eye so you'll have to study the differences to really nail the one you're trying to imitate. In this picture, I drew the eyebrow first, then outlined the shape of the eye. Next, I drew the iris, then shaded in the pupil leaving a reflective white spot and finished shading around the inner and outer parts of the eye.

this makes me so angry, i wish i could draw something even remotely close to this. you have talent. any tips for me to learn to draw?

Whatever you want to draw, study it. Draw from photos, draw from life, and just keep practicing. It's pretty much a guarantee that you'll improve. In fact, I need to keep working and studying from photos, which I've been trying to do more often.

@stargazer793 No, I actually don't have this picture up anywhere because it was just a practice and because it was drawn after looking at Lauren Makena's drawing of a sabertooth (as mentioned in the description.) @hyperwires Yeah, I find that as I look at my drawings and notice stuff wrong with them I gradually improve. You have to "climb up the ladder" of art. Nice drawing by the way.
