A look at what it takes to fold, spin, and dye large pieces of material (like bed sheets and drapes).
In this video, two styles of spin/fold... on 5 foot by 3 foot cotton curtains... also included: examples of a double sheet, and a single sheet cut in half.

Large dyes! Large coolness!!

  • Hey there!

I was curious as to what tie dye pattern the double bed sheet was and if you have a tutorial for it. I've tie dyed one pair of sheets before but it was just a simple design. I love your videos!

    At about 4:33...

I did that sheet many years ago - it is actually a photo from the Nineties.

Looks like I folded it four first, then folded that square into a triangle, and likely accordian folded the triangle...

But I am not 100% sure at the moment.

This is a fairly standard outcome for a fold similar to "the circle"...

Worked out pretty sweetly! Sorry I can't be of more help at the moment - but I will see what I can figure out for you.

  • How long do you keep it in the bag?

  • @brrgrron11

I like to go three days - but there are ways to be more instant.

You can heat the shirt in the bag - in a microwave.

Just two or three bursts at 30 secdonds, let it heat up while sealed, then let it cool - then rinse.

  • I gotta be special or something...Where are you tying the first one? How do you tie it? I feel silly. :(

  • @AtlantisAllre

Any of the spins (disc looking shirts) are tied around the circumfrance.

So it is like a puck or frizbee.

Try to tie it tight enough it will not fall out of spin.

Wrap the string around the outside "wall" of the spun shirt or material...

  • Instead of walking around, you could use a fork :)

  • Well, I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks for all your help!
