@rocka156 It's reaallly hard ! ! Don't take it so serious, it will become harder to understand :P Don't concentrate so much and just live in the music :P
-
@Nicokid87 You've got to understand that music is a subective experience, and that you shouldn't trouble yourself with possibly offending "eletist music snobs". Sure, some people are only pretending to like it for the brownie points, but hey, others love it. Anyway, try humming the tune; it makes it a bit easier to have fun with the song.

At the risk of offending every elitist music snob on youtube, I just dont understand the "genius" behind this "music". I'm sure some people actually do enjoy this music, but many, many people are just saying they like it because liking Trout Mask Replica makes them some sort of superior, avant-garde, non-onformist. Why don't you roll over and let the internet music critics stomp on the other side of your face?

It's about war and strife. There's a lot of imagery of death and suffering.
"The only way they ever all got together was not in love, but shameful grief"
Here, he's talking about how it takes a great disaster for people to care about and help each other.

very influential musician I'm not sure that's a good thing

@rocka156 Well, like a lot of difficult albums, this music usually has to be listened to multiple times. It helps get past the initial confusion. Also, Captain Beefheart is somewhat insane, and thinks and sees the world differently than most people. So while you're listening, try to detach your mind from the universe as you know it, and allow the music and lyrics to map out a new plain of thought. Kind of like in a dream, where you accept impossible things.

@cover821 my mistake.

@billscorpse
actually, in all honesty, i am sick and tired of that person's foulness and stupidity and have no desire to discuss anything with him, especially in a music video !

@theo995
you're right. Was being sarcastic. But a nazi discusion is a nazi discusion, and is interesting, but not in a music video.

@billscorpse
