THE REAL DRACULA ventures into the mists of history to chronicle the exploits of the 15th century prince known as Vlad the Impaler. Ruling from a mountain fortress reached by a stairway of 1400 steps, Vlad was a sadist of unimaginable proportions. Legends say that he impaled hundreds of his enemies on stakes in the plain below his castle, then took lunch surrounded by the grisly ""forest"" of his victims, dipping his bread in their blood! Bram Stoker, in writing his classic 1897 novel Dracula, took Vlad as his model for the vampire who has become a cultural icon throughout the Western World. But the exploits of the fictional vampires pale in comparison to the horrors committed by Vlad, THE REAL DRACULA!

  • @GodOfTheInternets Actually in romania he is still considered a hero and defender of his country.

  • @DarkGothist Come on, everybody knows that Vlad is still alive. His rests were never found and he will return some day. HE WILL RETURN TO RESTORE ORDER. :)

  • @alex4ucj

No wonder, Eastern Europe is filled with nationalist chauvinists.

  • @RipperRedDead What exactly do you mean that Vlad is still alive? Just asking.

  • @Hungaroctonul When I said his people turned on him I meant the people in HIS time.

  • @Hungaroctonul Those boyars were Wellechians. Besides Vlad was never secure on the throne during his third reign. kind of explains why it only lasted a few weeks.

P.S. you might want to read the comment right below the one to which you responded.

  • @HarbingerOfBattle But let us not forget, that in the end his own people turned on him.

  • Dracula was many things. Yes, he was ruthless, and a tyrant, and a killer. But I also understand he had a terrific singing voice. He was also a a fighter for his country and his faith, he brought law and order to Wallachia (albeit in the most ass way possible) and reminded the boyars that they owe their lands and status to HIM only. Plus, he wasn't afraid to go into battle with his warriors.

  • He didn't go into exile. He was put in jail by the traitor king of Hungary.

  • Vlad is still alive.
