Steve your story have such similarties to mine that it amazes me. I'm an IT engineer who was diagnosed with ALS several months after I found my dream job and moved to Chicago back in January 2007 and the conclusive third diagnosis was on November, just days before my birthday. As I could still work, that's what I focused on to keep on living but that came to an end last November. Your story is truly inspiring and I hope you accomplish your goal and we get more nursing homes like yours.
