Multi-Touch and Creative Industries
Martin Kaltenbrunner gives an abbreviated history of Multi-touch technologies during a panel discussion at SOCO Amsterdam concerning multi-point/ multi-user touchscreens and the future of computer interfaces... with a really great panel featuring:
- Harry van der Veen co-founder of the NUI Group which is the leading international community (over 1000 contributing members) for research of multi-point touchscreen technology... with an open source platform for multi-touch computing.
- Martin Kaltenbrunner co-developer of Reactable which is a collaborative electronic music instrument with a tabletop tangible multi-touch interface (currently incorporated as a key instrument of Björk's Volta world tour). One of the best known examples of multi-touch interfaces.
- Ralph Das artist creating new applications for multi-point touchscreens . At the discussion, Das will debut a brand new application which he has made specifically for Redefining the Space titled the 'NewsWell'.
For those familiar with multi-touch, this is a chance to talk with some of the top researchers in the field. For those interested in learning more about multi-touch, there could be no better introduction.
