Also seems like the war was pointless, no?

I mean if the US now trades peacefully with the same regime they went to war with what was the point of all those deaths?

Also fighting any war based on a false flag operation can't just - go to the people and the senate and if the US is attacked then get a declaration of war.

I have nothing but respect for the marines and soldiers of other nations that fought in Vietnam but they were misled and sacrificed by the military industrial complex.

if you need more proof of why the US helping the South Vietnamese or for that matter any nation that truly wants to be free and not have another dictatorship is good, look at a satellite picture of North and South Korea at night...... where are there more lights? We weren't allowed to fight it correctly... whats more how is it possible for the US and the South Vietnamese to have won each and every military battle and still lose the war... ex... we couldn't bomb the port of Hyphong fearing that we'd hit a Russian ship supplying the Vietcong and or the North Vietnamese regulars while the Russians were giving the North Vietnamese and the Vietcong weapons to kill us.."
