  • Hey everyone~

Thanks for all the responses about the modification. It works really well.

To get the cutter drilled and tapped you have to take the temper out of it. While keeping the cutting end as cool as possible, heat the other end with a small torch. Let it cool slowly. Mark center, drill and tap it to fit a machine screw that fits the case prep center. Re-heat the unit and quench it in some water to harden it again. I've trimmed tons of rounds with no trouble.

    Thanks again!

  • Really liking that case length trimmer.....a must for high production gas gun brass.

  • @sw8741 When new, the RCBS debur & chamfer tools work as shown in the video. After a few thousand cases, they dull and require more pressure and time to do their job. I'd pay more for carbide tools. Professional grade would use replaceable carbide inserts, but any carbide cutter cutting brass at low speed like this would last a very long time. I'm surprised the RCBS high speed steel tools dull as quickly as they do.

  • I just got mine back from a machine shop yesterday and they make a holder and used a set screw and it does not wobble at all...... I made a video yesterday of what it looks like. I really like it !!!!!!!!!

  • Dude,

How did you attach the cutter.

    Machine shops wont touch it.

My gunsmith is building a "cup" for the cutter to sit in but it keeps wobble.

    Yours looks perfect.

    Nice job-

  • How did you get the lee case trimmer on the RCBS?

  • Did you drill and tap a case cutter? I took a case cutter to two machine shops locally and they all refused saying the material of the case cutter was too hard.

  • : )

  • thats the first vid i've seen when someone uses the debur and chamfer tool correctly! i can't figure out why they always use a lot of pressure when they use those tools. they aren't for trimming cases!
