Simple video just presenting Canon eos 500D video quality. Filmed without tripod and using 18-55mm IS kit- lens. My hands were shaking because I filmed this without tripod, but still it is pretty good quality..

can anybody answer my question , IS CANON 500D BETTER FOR FILM MAKING AS COMPARED TO HD HANDYCAMS? i m a film maker , i m concerned more about the video mode than the photo mode n my friends said that dslr's depth of focus n other qualities help u do topnotch film making , so what do u guys think , help would b appreciated...

If you're into film-making, go straight to handycams. You can use depht focus with them too. For exampl. Canon makes good ones: look at "Canon LEGRIA HF S20"

@AdminGoogolplexian but its almost the same price canon is , justa lil bit cheaper , n as far as i hav heard dslrs vid r prettyy aweessooommeeee compared to hd cams not to mention shallow depth , n i dnt hav problem wid the audio issues because most of it i do post prodcution

I don't know how about you... but I personally buy the camera to take good quality pictures but not video =) the video is just a good feature to have. Don't forget that a photo camera will still be a photo camera, and if you want an HD video, maybe you should buy something else, like a Canon HD video camera =). So guys, don't complain about the video because it is not a video camera!!!

@rizwankhan1989 get a canon 5d mark ii.. best camera for cheap filmmaking. im getting a t1i for filmmaking in about 3 days. only reason im not getting a mark ii is cause of its price.. its like 3k.

@rizwankhan1989 DSLRs are better compared to handycams because they have better and bigger sensors, which means DSLRs will give you a better color, and focus especially in lowlight situations.

This video was extremely helpful to me, it was useful to see what the image quality looks like in low lighting, and also the sound quality is quite good. Very pleased with the quality for a photo camera.

Also you did a great job fliming without the tripod.
