@Username93611 "Apps" is just short for application, it can be anything really from a kitchen timer app to Photoshop or World of Warcraft. It's sorta like "God": One word, 7 billion meanings.

I see loads of copies from Mac OS X and the iPhone OS. For one everyone knows your 'thumb keyboard' is a complete copy of the revolutionary iPad OS soon to come. Windows 8 sucks. The only good operating system Windows is known and was successful at was XP. other than that, Mac dominates :P

Dear Microsoft... STOP CALLING THEM APPS. I am not going to buy individual shitty little programs like Angry Birds for 5 dollars a pop! I want Windows to run what programs *I* want to run in the normal way. Not "apps". Fuck apps.

Wow all of the comments here are ignorant and unintelligent.
If you notice, quite a few times he mentions that it works well with and without a touch screen.
Also, if you notice, the tiles replace icons, not the computer.
The Windows Phone 7 has a similar design, but it doesnt have the main computer aspect.

your letting me down microsoft. windows 8 looks stupid what ever happened to working on a computer with a back ground and key board and mouse i do not want to scroll around on a screen to find crap i like useing a desktop to work i would feel limited by this i'm DISAPPOINTED IN YOU your going back to ibm ways as well not cool isn't that what you tried leaveing in the first place
